APPLICATIONS
Mercia Flexibles stainless steel pump
connectors have been optimally designed
for use in pipework systems where pumps
or compressors are used - to suppress noise,
absorb vibration, to accommodate for
minor lateral misalignment or thermal
movement, and to adjust for any building
settlement. They are ideally suited for high
temperature and high vacuum.
CONSTRUCTION
Manufactured to BS6501 Pt.1 with AISI
321 stainless steel corrugated tubing and
AISI 304 stainless steel single overbraid, &
with end fittings TIG welded-on. AISI 316
stainless steel material also available.
END FITTINGS
Available in Carbon Steel or Stainless Steel.
Screwed Assemblies - Threaded BSP
Taper Male Hexagon or Half Barrel
(Weld Nipple) Fittings.
Flanged Assemblies - To BS4504-PN/DIN,
BS10, ANSI/ASA & JIS standards.
Other threads & flanges also available, including
elbows or swivel flanged ends.
INSTALLATION
Braided pump connectors are not designed to
absorb axial vibration !
Moderate Vibration / Noise
For maximum efficiency, the connectors should
be placed in both the suction and discharge lines,
as close as possible & at 90° to the vibration
source. They must be anchored at the pipework,
on the end away from the source.
Severe Vibration / Noise
Where excessive vibration is encountered,
best results will be obtained by installing
two connectors on each side of the source,
at right angles to each other.
